Now in its third year, the award-winning mentoring programme is seeking applications for mentees in a variety of broadcasting roles.
Rise, the advocate group for gender diversity within the broadcast manufacturing and services sector, launched its third annual mentoring scheme today. The UK based programme will work with 20 mentees from the following sectors of the broadcast industry – operations, engineering, sales, marketing and business.
The mentoring programme is free and is open to those women already working within the broadcast technology sector but is also open to those who aspire to be in the sector that are currently working within another industry.
Several 2019 mentees highly praised the programme, one mentee remarked; “It is refreshing and inspiring to see such a great group of women supporting each other, learning from each other, in a positive and energetic environment. You leave every session with desire and passion to do more and confidence knowing you can do anything you put your mind to it!”
Another 2019 mentee said; “Thank you for supporting this incredible initiative. Thank you for putting your money where your mouth is when it comes to supporting women in our industry. I never imagined how dramatically six months could change my career, my outlook, and my goals – now I feel like the sky is the limit!!!”
Each mentee will be assigned a mentor and will have at least 12 hours of mentoring contact with their industry professional. The mentees will also have the opportunity to meet with their mentee group on a monthly basis, as well as attend industry networking events and workshops throughout the six-month period.
“The programme continues to deliver above and beyond the expected impact for all involved, mentees, mentors, as well as industry partners supporting it. We really cannot thank you all enough. We are very much looking forward to welcoming 20 more women into the 2020 programme and supporting them throughout the next several months watching their progress and celebrating their successes.”
