The Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS), the UK-based craft guild made up of nearly 600 of the most imaginative and highly experienced creative talents working in the field of sound for film, television, and games, has revealed the 2025 nominations for Excellence in Sound for a Television Drama, Factual Film and Audio Products.
BABY REINDEER (Netflix), BLACK DOVES (Netflix), SHŌGUN (Disney+), SLOW HORSES (Apple TV+) and WOLF HALL: THE MIRROR AND THE LIGHT (BBC) are all in contention for the Excellence in Sound for a Television Drama Award.
In the category for Excellence in Sound for a Factual Film, APOLLO 13: SURVIVAL (Netflix), EARTHSOUNDS (Apple TV+), SECRET WORLD OF SOUND WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH (Sky), STRIKE: AN UNCIVIL WAR (Netflix), SUPER/MAN: THE CHRISTOPHER REEVE STORY (Sky) are vying to take home the coveted award.
Netflix leads with four nominations, followed by Sky and Apple TV+ with two nominations each, and Disney+ and BBC with one nomination each.

Now in its 12th year, the AMPS Awards are presented annually for Excellence in Sound. The winners will be announced at an informal event taking place on Sunday 13th April.
The AMPS Awards are a key part of the awards season calendar, awarding its first trophy of 2025 for Excellence in Sound for a Feature Film to DUNE: PART TWO earlier this month. Since launching the awards 12 years ago, AMPS has a strong track record of their Feature Film Sound recipients going on to achieve BAFTA and Oscar success, with 11 winning the BAFTA on 11 occasions (including this year) and the Academy Award 7 times, to date.
