Applications are now open for Digital Orchard and Orchard Crew’s 2025 Trainee Schemes.

Last year, Digital Orchard launched their Access: 2024 Trainee Scheme to formalise training pathways for DIT and Video trainees. After completing a comprehensive interview process, Digital Orchard selected six applicants to join their Agency as DIT/Video Trainee. The trainees received bespoke in-house training, workshops, a mentor, industry advice, shadowing opportunities, and work placements across a range of projects, including Features, TV Drama, High End TV, Commercials and short form.
With the scheme running from April to April, Digital Orchard are now reopening applications for their next cohort of trainees, to begin in April 2025. Those selected will join Digital Orchard’s Agency in a freelance capacity, and will have the opportunity to kick start their career in DIT or Video, gain experience on real productions, and work alongside Digital Orchard’s talented crew.
This year, Digital Orchard are excited to expand the program to include Camera Trainees under their sister company, Orchard Crew. The selected Camera Trainees will gain one year’s subscription to Orchard Crew’s Diary Service, where they will receive representation on Orchard Crew’s website, and access to a comprehensive training programme, mentorship and work opportunities. The trainees will have access to Orchard Crew’s network of experienced camera technicians, as well as Orchard’s wider industry network and expertise, and support throughout the year.
Digital Orchard is an equal opportunities employer; recruitment opportunities are open to all but are particularly keen to hear from candidates who are from groups that are under-represented in the film and television industry. Over the years, the Digital Orchard Foundation has partnered with organisations such as Imago, Illuminatrix, and WFTV, providing funding, event support, and hosting networking opportunities, welcoming applications from everyone. Please reach out to them if you have any questions about this, or require an alternative application method.
The scheme offers:
- Hands-on Training – Technical workshops
- Industry Insights – Advice on rates, negotiations & invoicing
- On-Set Experience – Shadowing a Technician or Operator on real productions
- Kit Room Exposure – Gain valuable experience at DO HQ
- Mentorship Program – Dedicated mentor for ongoing support
