After last years’ launch announcement, the award-winning VFX studio continues its development by enhancing its leadership team with a key appointment.
After launching their Barcelona office last year, Milk has announced that Jorge Oliva Ruiz de Leon has been appointed as Creative Head of Studio. Jorge was initially leading the Barcelona studio as 2D Supervisor. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been with Milk in London for nine years, and then subsequently moving to Barcelona. His experience at Milk encompasses work on films including Adrift, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and most recently, Me Time and The Woman King. Jorge has also worked on Guardians of the Galaxy and RoboCop.
Jorge is highly experienced in leading teams in creative excellence, and welcomes the opportunity to head Milk Barcelona and continue to nurture the abundant VFX talent within the industry in Spain.
Milk’s Barcelona studio is located in the sought after @22 district in Poble Nou, an area known for innovation, tech and VFX, with the internationally renowned FX Barcelona Film School located nearby. The studio operates as a hub for Milk Spains’ hybrid, remote and studio-based team, leveraging Milk’s London infrastructure. Milk Barcelona are currently working on Surviving Earth which Jorge is supervising.
This announcement follows the appointment of Donal Nolan as Creative Head of Milk Dublin earlier this year.
I am honoured to take on the role of Creative Head at Milk’s Barcelona branch, especially during such an exciting time of international growth. Leading our talented team in Spain, in my hometown, and making a significant impact in the industry at home and abroad is a dream come true.
