The upcoming gathering in Pleasance, Edinburgh is a celebration of animation and VFX.
Scotland’s animation and VFX gathering brings together international creatives, industry leaders, students, and educators to Edinburgh from 21-23 February 2024 to celebrate the joy of making things move.
Based in the historic Pleasance Courtyard in Edinburgh, the event features three days of inspiring talks, workshops, creative reviews, screenings, an exhibition and recruitment fair, tech demos, networking, and business development – all focused around the latest and greatest in the international animation and VFX industries. In the evenings, the event moves off site for their regular MOVE Late events, including the popular Drink & Draw.
The magic of MOVE is in the celebration of each others’ creativity, artistry, and technical accomplishments. It is a great opportunity to hear from world-class studios, discover how the latest projects were made, get insights into how creative challenges were overcome, learn new tricks and tips, and see some unique works-in-progress.
The MOVE team is developing a stellar line up with speakers, including Jane Wu (Blue Eye Samurai), James Williams (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Illumination), Emilie Bach (Julián, Cartoon Saloon), Troy Quane (Nimona, Netflix), Torsten Schrank (Klaus), and Nathan Jurevicius (Scarygirl), with more to be announced.
Building on previous years’ successes, MOVE will also be hosting their Business @ MOVE strand, a dedicated business programme bringing together independent studios and producers with commissioners, broadcasters, agencies, and industry bodies to explore mutually beneficial opportunities and explore practices of getting work made.
MOVE Summit 2024 is made possible thanks to the generous support of their funders and partners Screen Scotland, Interference Pattern, ScreenSkills Animation, Eyebolls, and HeeHaw. For more information, see the MOVE website here and get your tickets here.
